Alliances

One of IALU’s core convictions is that the strength of a network lies not only in its size, but in the depth of collaboration it enables. Alliances are how that conviction becomes action. Rather than asking every institution to do everything alone, IALU actively encourages and supports member universities to join forces around specific areas of shared expertise, pooling resources, knowledge and innovative spirit to achieve what no single institution could accomplish on its own. This decentralized model is central to how IALU delivers more for all its members: by empowering specialized communities within the network to lead, collaborate and address pressing global challenges together. The result is a series of focused, mission-driven alliances that draw on the collective strength of Lasallian higher education to empower students and faculty, enhance the global impact of our institutions and drive meaningful social and economic transformation, while remaining fully aligned with the values and mission that unite us

La Salle Business School Alliance (LSBSA)

The La Salle Business School Alliance is the first formal alliance to emerge from the IALU network, and a landmark example of what Lasallian collaboration can look like in practice. Born from conversations among business school deans during the Lasallian Leadership Program in 2019, it grew steadily into a global initiative, culminating in a founding summit in Mexico in September 2024 with representatives from 23 Lasallian business schools, and its official launch at the IALU Board meeting in December of that year. The Alliance is built on the conviction that Lasallian business schools share not only an educational heritage but a distinctive responsibility: to form ethical, globally minded leaders who are as committed to social transformation as they are to professional excellence.

The LSBSA puts that shared commitment into concrete action, guided by four key principles: academic excellence and collaborative innovation; ethical leadership rooted in Lasallian values; commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity and justice; and the integration of technology and creativity in business education. Its vision is to become one of the largest and most impactful business school networks in the world, recognized not only for the breadth of its faculty and student community, but for the depth of its social impact.

The LSBSA is led by a President and Vice President, each representing a different region of the global network, supported by regional leaders from Asia, Mexico, and South and Central America. Day-to-day coordination is carried out by a General Coordination Team based in Barcelona, ensuring that the Alliance’s initiatives remain connected, responsive and aligned with the broader Lasallian mission.

Engineering Alliance

Building on the experience of the Business School Alliance, IALU has launched the Engineering Alliance, which brings together Lasallian engineering schools from across the network to collaborate around their shared expertise, in the same spirit of academic excellence, innovation and service to society.
